Race For The Baltic
Race For The Baltic is an independent non-profit environmental organisation, founded by Zennström Philanthropies and supported by a dedicated group of philanthropists. Its mission is to improve the health of the Baltic Sea and ensure a healthy Baltic Sea by 2030.
Internship Description
Your role will be to work with the project manager in an international project aimed at establishing and disseminating a new method to reduce the environmental impact of agriculture. The project includes conducting pilot tests with farmers, collaborating with researchers who perform the tests, disseminating the results to authorities, and incorporating the method into the guidelines of these authorities.
Project Management Intern
You like the idea of digging deep into environmental issues and supporting a fast-paced team. You are proactive and analytical, with a keen interest in cross-sector collaboration and results-oriented projects.
Key Responsibilities
- RESEARCH: Provide research support to project manager on topics related to the project.
- COMMUNICATIONS: Take a supporting role in communicating with stakeholders in the private and public sector.
- FIELD WORK: Assisting in implementing and following up on various field-testing activity.
Requirements and qualifications
- Bachelor's level students are the minimum requirement, but Master's level students are preferred.
- An academic background in biology, chemistry, marine biology, marine ecotoxicology, agriculture, agronomy, or another natural science is preferred but not required.
- Language:
- Fluency in Swedish, and proficiency in English, is required.
- Knowledge of Estonian, Finnish, Latvian, Lithuanian, or Polish is a plus.
- Skills:
- A cooperative mindset, likability, and strong emotional intelligence (EQ) are important skills for a successful internship.
- Experience from interacting with farmers is a plus, but not a requirement.
- Comfortable in PowerPoint and Excel is necessary.
- Hours & Location:
- Approximately 40 hours per week for 10-20 weeks
- Flexible working arrangement: a mix of in-office (in Central Stockholm) and working from home.
